马来西亚竞争委员会（MyCC）已对250家涉垄断集团（kartel）活动的公司罚款1亿5000多万令吉（近4329万新元）。
《星洲日报》报道，国内贸易和生活费部代部长阿米占在国会作书面答复时说，MyCC目前正在调查430多家涉嫌参与垄断集团活动的公司。
阿米占回答伊斯兰党马兰区国会议员哈迪阿旺的提问时说，这些公司相信参与了垄断集团活动，包括影响公众基本需求和生活费的商品和服务。
阿米占说，MyCC将修订2010年竞争法和2010年竞争委员会法，加强调查和执法的权力，以长期打击垄断集团活动。
此外，部长说，政府也会推介合并管制机制，让MyCC得以采取早期干预行动，通过控制合并活动来防止垄断集团或垄断的形成。
他指出，在修正案下，任何参与垄断集团的公司都可能被处以高达公司全球营业额10%的财政罚款。
“若涉及政府采购，（公司）将会列入黑名单，不得参与政府招标。”
