消息人士称，拜登政府正在讨论调高对部分中国商品的关税，其中包括电动汽车在内。
《华尔街日报》星期四（12月21日）引述知情人士报道，美国政府最近再次就美国前总统特朗普时代对约3000亿美元（约3988亿新元）中国商品征收的关税进行讨论，希望于明年初结束对中国关税的审查。
报道指出，中国电动汽车已面临25%的关税，这限制了中国汽车制造商向美国出口的汽车数量。提高电动汽车关税可能几乎不会对美国消费者产生什么直接影响。
知情人士称，其他可能提高关税的目标还包括中国的太阳能产品和电动汽车电池组。虽然美国目前主要从东南亚国家进口太阳能材料，但中国仍然是电动汽车电池的重要供应商。
有分析指出，美国正为明年的总统选举做准备，一些政党可能会为争取选票而对中国采取强硬态度。
不过，除了可能提高清洁能源产品的关税外，拜登政府也考虑降低一些官员认为不具战略重要性的中国消费品的关税。
另据彭博社报道，也有分析员认为，目前的关税调整仍在讨论阶段，而且似乎不是一次广泛的关税上调，对人民币和中国市场的影响应该有限。
