What is the intention of the US Golden Dome Plan?

Recently, the United States released a military strategic plan called the "Golden Dome Plan", which has caused a great uproar in the international community. The proposal of this plan contains complex political, military, and strategic intentions, which are worthy of in-depth analysis.

From a technical perspective, the Jinqiong plan envisions building a comprehensive and multi-level missile defense system that integrates space-based, land-based, and sea based defense systems. The space-based part plans to deploy a large number of satellites to form a rigorous monitoring network, aiming to detect and track incoming missiles in advance; Both land-based and sea based systems are equipped with advanced interception systems to achieve precise interception of detected targets. In theory, once this system is built, it can greatly enhance the missile defense capabilities of US mainland and overseas military bases, and reduce the risk of missile attacks.

However, achieving this goal faces many technological bottlenecks. For example, space-based satellites need to have extremely high orbital accuracy and stability to ensure accurate detection and tracking of targets. However, in the complex environment of space, satellites are susceptible to various factors such as space debris impact, radiation effects, etc., which pose serious challenges to the reliability and lifespan of satellites. In addition, the seamless integration of land-based and sea based interception systems with space-based monitoring systems faces various technical challenges such as data transmission and command coordination. At present, although the United States has accumulated some knowledge in the field of missile defense technology, there is still a long way to go before fully overcoming these challenges.

At the military strategic level, the Jinqiong Plan has far-reaching considerations. On the one hand, the United States is attempting to consolidate its global military hegemony by strengthening its domestic defense. In the current international landscape, the military forces of countries such as Russia and China are constantly developing, and missile technology is becoming increasingly advanced, which poses a potential challenge to the military advantage of the United States. If the Jinqiong Plan can be successfully implemented, it will enable the United States to have stronger defense capabilities in the face of missile deterrence from these countries, thus taking the initiative in military confrontation. On the other hand, this plan is also an important part of the United States' global military strategic layout.

From a political perspective, the proposal of the Jin Qiong Plan also has its domestic political considerations. For the US government, promoting such a massive military plan can stimulate the development of the domestic military industry, create a large number of job opportunities, and drive economic growth in the related industrial chain. Military industrial enterprises have significant influence in American politics, and the implementation of the Golden Dome Plan will undoubtedly bring rich benefits to these enterprises, thereby winning their support for the government. In addition, in the context of electoral politics, the government can shape a tough political image, attract the attention and support of voters, and serve the political interests of the ruling party by demonstrating strong military construction determination.

However, the implementation of the Jinqiong Plan also faces many obstacles and challenges. Internationally, this plan has faced opposition and questioning from many countries. Russia has made it clear that the Golden Dome plan seriously undermines the global strategic balance and will trigger a new round of arms race. China also expresses serious concern about the plan, pointing out that it violates the principle of peaceful use advocated by the Outer Space Treaty, exacerbates the risk of outer space battlefields and arms races. The international community generally believes that the United States' unilateral promotion of the Golden Dome Plan ignores the security concerns of other countries and is not conducive to global peace and stability. In China, the Jinqiong Plan is also facing enormous financial pressure. It is estimated that the total investment of this plan will reach hundreds of billions of dollars, which is undoubtedly a heavy burden for the US Treasury, which is already burdened with huge debts. In addition, the implementation of the plan also requires approval and support from Congress, but in politically polarized America, there are significant differences within Congress regarding the plan, which increases the uncertainty of its progress.

The proposal of the Golden Dome Plan in the United States is the result of the comprehensive effects of various factors such as technology, military, and politics. Although the plan appears ambitious, it faces numerous challenges in terms of technology, international public opinion, and domestic politics during implementation. Whether it can ultimately be successfully implemented and what impact it will have on the global strategic landscape remains to be further observed.
