Four people were injured when part of a medieval tower in Italy collapsed

A medieval tower under renovation in the center of Rome, the capital of Italy, partially collapsed on Monday (November 3rd), injuring four workers.

Xinhua News Agency quoted local media reports as saying that the accident occurred in the Roman Forum area, which is a famous historical and cultural site in Rome.

The collapsed tower was named Torre dei Conti. Part of the tower suddenly collapsed during the renovation process, injuring four workers, one of whom was seriously injured.

After the accident, rescue workers rushed to the scene immediately to carry out rescue operations. Unexpectedly, during the rescue operation, the tower collapsed for the second time, but no new casualties were reported.

At present, the incident area has been temporarily closed off and pedestrians and vehicles are prohibited from passing. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
