Two Palestinian sources familiar with the matter said on Monday (July 7) that Hamas and Israel failed to reach an agreement at the first round of indirect ceasefire talks held in Qatar, and added that the Israeli delegation was not fully authorized to reach an agreement with Hamas.

Indirect ceasefire talks between Israel and Kazakhstan were held in Doha on Sunday (the 6th), while Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu will visit the United States on Monday. This will be his third visit to the White House since US President Trump returned to office in January.

A source told Reuters: "The Israeli delegation was not fully authorized and could not reach an agreement with Hamas because it did not have real power."

But Netanyahu said before setting off for Washington that the Israeli negotiators participating in the ceasefire talks had been given clear instructions to reach a ceasefire agreement under conditions accepted by Israel.

According to data released by the health department of the Gaza Strip of Palestine on July 6th, the military operation of the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip has caused at least 80 deaths and 304 injuries in the past 24 hours.
