The British government pointed out that the member states of the Group of Seven (G7) will announce a new round of sanctions against Russia on Tuesday (June 17th) to further increase the economic pressure on Moscow in the Ukraine war.

Reuters reported that British Prime Minister Stammer is expected to say in a statement: "We are finalizing a new round of sanctions. I hope to work with all G7 partners to cut Russia's energy revenue and weaken its sources of funds for illegal wars."

Since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, the UK has imposed sanctions on over 2,300 individuals, entities and vessels, covering multiple key areas such as finance, shipping and energy.

Stammer is expected to stress that this is a crucial window for expanding pressure on the Russian economy. We should seize the current opportunity, increase economic pressure and show Russian President Putin that achieving peace is in his own and Russia's interests.
