Netanyahu said Israel was "very close" to achieving its goals on the Iran issue

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu said that Israel is very close to achieving the goal of eliminating the dual threat of Iran's ballistic missile and nuclear programs.

Reuters reported that Netanyahu promised on Sunday (June 22) that Israel would not be drawn into a war of attrition, but he also emphasized that the operation against Iran would not be ended prematurely.

Netanyahu told Israeli media on the same day, "We will not take actions beyond the scope necessary to achieve the goal, but we will not end the operation too early either." When we achieve our goals and complete the tasks, the battle will stop.

He said, "I have no doubt at all that this regime (of Iran) wants to eliminate us. So we launched this operation, aiming to eliminate the two specific threats to our survival - the nuclear threat and the ballistic missile threat." We are moving step by step towards achieving these two major goals and are very close to achieving them.

Netanyahu said that Iran's Fordo nuclear facility was severely damaged overnight by the US "giant penetrating bomb", but the extent of its damage still needs to be evaluated.

When asked about the whereabouts of Iran's 60% enriched uranium, Netanyahu said, "We have been closely tracking it." I can tell you that this is an important part of Iran's nuclear program. This is not its only component, nor is it a sufficient one. But this is an important component. We have some interesting information, but I can't disclose it to you. I hope you can understand.

At least before Israel's air strike on Iran's uranium enrichment facilities on June 13th, the purity of Iran's enriched uranium had reached 60%, just one step away from the 90% weapons-grade enriched uranium required for manufacturing nuclear weapons, and much higher than the 3.67% ceiling stipulated in the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on the Iranian nuclear issue. Iran has been abiding by this agreement until 2018 when Trump withdrew the United States from the Iran nuclear deal during his first presidential term.

US President Trump announced on the evening of June 21 that the United States had attacked and destroyed three nuclear facilities in Iran, namely Fordo, Natanz and Isfahan.
