The floor leader of South Korea's ruling National Power Party has rejected the proposal of the main opposition Minjoo Party to form a consultative body for the stability of state affairs.

Speaking in parliament on Sunday, Kwon stressed that the National Power Party, as the ruling party, had appointed an acting president in accordance with the constitution, Xinhua reported.

Earlier, Lee Jae-myeong, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, pointed out at a press conference that the "civil unrest" incident had a serious impact on South Korea's national defense and security, and the country needs to restore normalization as soon as possible, and proposed that the National Assembly and the government jointly establish a "National policy stability consultative body" to achieve cross-party cooperation.
