According to North Korean official media reports, North Korea has built a large-scale tourist resort with water slides and swimming pools.

Agence France-Presse reported that according to the Korean Central News Agency, Kim Jong UN attended the grand opening ceremony of the Wonsan Gama Coast Tourist Area on Tuesday (June 24). The tourist area can accommodate nearly 20,000 people for accommodation. Pyongyang claims that it is a "world-class cultural destination".

Photos released by official media show Kim Jong UN sitting on a chair, watching a man speeding down a water slide on the beach.

According to the Korean Central News Agency, the Wonsan Gamma Tourist Area has "sea bathing service facilities and various sports and entertainment facilities", and "has all the conditions..." It can showcase the beautiful scenery of the four seasons on the east coast.

Kim Jong UN expressed great satisfaction with this and said that the construction of the tourist area would become "one of the greatest achievements of this year", and North Korea would build more large-scale tourist areas in the shortest time.

The resort area will be open to domestic tourists on July 1st and may also be open to foreign tourists in the future.

Analysts say that Kim Jong UN has shown a strong interest in developing North Korea's tourism industry since the early days of his administration, and the development of the Wonsan Gamma Coast Tourist Area is one of the key focuses.

North Korea reopened its borders in August 2023. Even before the outbreak of the epidemic, foreign tourists were restricted, with about 5,000 Western tourists visiting each year.

TASS news Agency of Russia reported on Wednesday (25th) that a passenger train from Pyongyang has arrived in Moscow, marking the resumption of direct railway operations between the two capitals that had been suspended for five years.
