Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Dar called on the United States and Iran to exercise restraint and follow the terms of the US-Iran Memorandum of Understanding, in order to help ease the tensions.
The Pakistani Foreign Ministry issued a statement on Sunday (July 12th) saying that Dar held a phone call with Iranian Foreign Minister Alaghi that day. The two foreign ministers exchanged views on the current regional situation. Dar emphasized that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only way to resolve disputes and achieve lasting peace and stability in the region.
The statement indicates that Pakistan is willing to continue playing a constructive role in promoting and maintaining regional peace and stability, and both sides have agreed to maintain close contact.
