(Islamabad) Amid escalating tensions between Pakistan and India, the Pakistani military conducted two missile tests within three days.

The Pakistani military announced on Monday (May 5th) that it had successfully test-fired the Fatah series of surface-to-surface missiles with a range of 120 kilometers.

The military statement said: "This launch is aimed at ensuring the combat readiness of the troops and verifying the key technical parameters of the missile, including the advanced navigation system and enhanced strike accuracy."

The military also said last Saturday (the 3rd) that it test-fired a surface-to-ground missile with a range of 450 kilometers. The military did not disclose the specific locations of the two test launches.

Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is satisfied with the military's adequate preparations in terms of national defense. He said in a statement that the successful launch of this missile clearly indicates that Pakistan's defense forces are in the hands of reliable people.

Previously, Indian Prime Minister Modi said that he had granted the military "full freedom of movement" in response to the shooting incident that occurred in the Indian-controlled Kashmir region last month.

Due to tense relations with India, Sharif has postponed his visit to Malaysia, which was originally scheduled for this Friday (the 9th).

On April 22, a group of armed men opened fire on tourists with machine guns near the Pahaqam scenic area in Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in 26 deaths. Indian police said that two of the fugitive militants were Pakistanis and accused Pakistan of supporting "cross-border terrorism". Pakistan denies any connection with this and calls for an independent investigation.
