Japan on Monday (November 11) afternoon will convene a special diet, the full session of the House of Representatives and Senate to hold a prime minister-designate election.

According to Japanese media reports, because the ruling coalition composed of the Liberal Democratic Party and the New Komeito Party did not obtain a majority of seats in the House of Representatives election, it is expected that the prime minister's election can not be directly determined in the first round of voting. At that time, incumbent Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba and the largest opposition Constitutional Democratic Party leader Yoshihiko Noda will enter the second round of voting, with the most votes to become the new prime minister.

China Central Television reported that many people had predicted that Ishiba Shigeru would be re-elected Prime minister and set up his new cabinet on the night of 11.

On October 1, Ishiba Shigeru was elected as Japan's 102nd prime minister, and announced the dissolution of the House of Representatives eight days after taking office, setting a record for the fastest dissolution of the House of Representatives after the election of a post-war prime minister. On October 27, the election of the new House of Representatives was counted, and the ruling coalition composed of the Liberal Democratic Party and the New Komeito Party failed to win more than half of the seats in the new House of Representatives.

The Japanese Constitution stipulates that a special diet must be convened within 30 days after the election of the lower house of Parliament to elect the prime minister. At that time, the current Ishiba cabinet will resign en masse, and the newly elected House of Representatives and Senate will nominate the next prime minister and elect the speaker and deputy speaker of the lower house. The ruling party proposed that the session be held for four days until July 14.
