Infrastructure improvement has attracted foreign investment of 1 billion ringgit. A large modern pineapple processing plant is about to be established in Sarawak, Malaysia.

The Nanyang Siang Pau quoted JG Sarava SDN. BHD. (JGS) 's managing director, Jayala Zansri Ramalu, as saying that the company has received RM1 billion in financial support from a large Indian investor to set up a modern processing plant in Tanjung Mani.

The response of the investment delegation to this plan was very positive. They will personally visit Tanjung Mani to inspect the project site and witness the blueprint with their own eyes.

He expects that this investment will drive the area to become a central hub for large-scale production and export of Sarawak yellow pears, injecting new vitality into the local industry.

He said after the investor meeting on Monday (May 26th) that the factory would completely transform the development mode of the local pear cultivation industry and has received continuous attention and support from foreign investors.

Once the factory is put into operation, pear farmers from Kuching to Limong will have a stable buyer and no longer need to rely on street stalls or supermarkets for sales.

He said that the Sarawak Pan-Borneo Expressway is a key advantage that significantly enhances regional connectivity, making the transportation of goods such as pineapples faster, more convenient and more cost-effective. He believes that with its well-developed infrastructure and strong investor confidence, Tanjung Mani is moving towards the goal of becoming the regional pineapple capital.

JG Sarava is a company dedicated to agricultural development, focusing on the Sarawak yellow pear industry. The company said that in the future, farmers only need to transport the yellow pears to Tanjung Mani, and the subsequent work will be fully handled by the company.

At present, Sarawak produces about 15 tons of yellow pears per day, which is lower than the 50 tons needed by the company. However, he believes this is an opportunity rather than a limitation.

Now is the best time to invest in the cultivation of yellow pears. It is believed that within one to two years, the output of Sarawak can surpass that of West Malaysia.
