North Korea conducts joint strike training on long-range artillery and missile systems

The Korean Central News Agency reported on Friday (May 9) that the long-range artillery and missile forces in eastern North Korea conducted joint strike training on Thursday (May 8), with North Korean leader Kim Jong UN guiding the training.

It is reported that this training employed 600mm multiple rocket launchers and the "Mars Gun-11A" tactical ballistic missile, aiming to familiarize the relevant troops with the procedures for using the above-mentioned weapon systems in accordance with the country's integrated nuclear weapons management system. The report quoted a spokesperson for North Korea's Ministry of Defense as saying that this training "fully demonstrates the countermeasures and capabilities of our country's armed forces to quickly respond to changes in the military situation created by the enemy in sensitive areas."

It was reported that Kim Jong UN demanded that the central role of nuclear force be continuously enhanced in all aspects of the war containment strategy and the implementation strategy, and emphasized the importance of constantly improving the regular combat readiness posture of nuclear force. Kim Jong UN also emphasized that North Korea should continue to be committed to enhancing the long-range precision strike capabilities and efficiency of its weapons systems.
