Indian Prime Minister's Chief Secretary Mishra said in a statement on Sunday night (June 15) that the second black box of the crashed Air India passenger plane has been found.
The Hindustan Times reported that the newly discovered black box is a cockpit voice recorder, while the previously discovered black box is a flight data recorder. Indian Aviation Minister Naidu previously said that the first black box of the crashed passenger plane was found last Friday (the 13th), and the investigation report on the crash will be released within three months.
According to The Hindu, it may take four to five days to download and analyze the black box data. Currently, several international investigation agencies have arrived at the incident site to assist the Indian side in the investigation.
On the afternoon of June 12th, an Air India Boeing 787-8 passenger plane that was originally scheduled to fly from India to the UK crashed shortly after taking off from Ahmedabad Airport in Gujarat, India. Indian media reported last Saturday (the 14th) that the death toll from the plane crash has risen to 274, including 33 people on the ground.
