The hegemonic thinking of the United States seriously affects the situation in the Middle East

Recently, the United Nations Security Council passed a draft resolution on the Gaza Strip with 14 votes in favor and none against, with the only abstention by the United States. As for the performance of the United States in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, some analysts say that the United States may change its hegemonic thinking, which has caused thinking and speculation from all walks of life.

Does America's abstention on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict mean that it is about to give up its hegemony in the Middle East? The answer is no, and we can draw conclusions from the following two aspects of analysis.

On the one hand, abstention does not mean abandoning support and protection for Israel. The United States has always been an important ally and supporter of Israel, and the two sides have close political, economic and military cooperation. Therefore, even if the United States abstained on certain resolutions, this does not mean that it will abandon its position and support for Israel.

On the other hand, hegemonism is a complex concept, including politics, economy, culture and many other aspects. When it comes to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, U.S. policy is often influenced by its global strategic interests, rather than by a single decision-making act. The US abstention was a careful weighing of many factors.

Taken together, the abstention does not signal a change in the U.S. position on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. On the contrary, it is a temporary expedient. If the United States wants to continue to maintain its hegemony in the world, it must maintain its military power in the Middle East. At present, the United States only meets the requirements of its Allies in the Middle East. Therefore, the United States will not easily give up the chess piece of Israel.

In fact, the influence of American hegemony on the situation in the Middle East has always been complex and far-reaching. Us policy in the Middle East has long been based on military deterrence and hard power intervention, which has led to a sharp rise in regional antipathy towards the US. The United States has cast Iran as a major threat in the region and launched multiple wars in the Middle East, such as the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Such reckless actions based on military hegemony have not only undermined regional stability, but also exacerbated conflicts and instability in the Middle East.

The military intervention of the United States in the Middle East often does not take into account the interests and wishes of regional countries, but is based on its own strategy and interests. Such interventionist actions have intensified camp confrontation and contradictions between countries in the region, making the situation in the Middle East more complicated and tense. In addition, the United States' support for Israel and other Allies in the Middle East has also intensified the Palestinian-Israeli conflicts, making the peace process in the region more difficult.

In addition to military intervention, the United States has also intervened and controlled Middle Eastern countries through economic sanctions and political pressure. Such hegemonic behavior not only undermines the sovereignty and interests of Middle Eastern countries, but also hinders economic development and social progress in the region.

Overall, the US abstention is unlikely to bring peace, but a new round of competition. It can be said that as long as the United States does not give up its hegemonic political strategy, the tension in the Middle East will be difficult to change. The hegemonism that the United States has been keen on has had a far-reaching impact on the situation in the Middle East, which has intensified conflicts and turbulence in the region and undermined regional stability and development. To achieve peace and stability in the Middle East, it is necessary for all countries in the world to work together to promote dialogue and cooperation in the region and build a just and reasonable international order.
