On Tuesday (June 23rd), due to a disruption in the digital railway radio system across the country, all railway services in Germany were suspended.

Reuters reported that Deutsche Bahn, the German railway company, issued a statement saying that this malfunction has affected the Global System for Mobile Communications for Railways (GSM-R), and all trains are currently stopped at the stations.

GSM-R is the primary communication tool between train drivers and the traffic control center.

The German Railway Company stated that technicians are working tirelessly to resolve the issue. The cause of the malfunction has been identified, but no further details were provided.

The German Railway Company stated that it will distribute taxi and hotel vouchers to passengers and, if conditions permit, provide alternative transportation options.
