The Joint Effects of the Palestinian-Israeli Conflict Appear

On November 7 local time, the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye issued a statement saying that companies that support Israel will not be allowed to continue to sell their products in parliamentary restaurants, cafes, teahouses and other places.

It is reported that this decision was made by Kurtulmus, the Speaker of the National Assembly of Türkiye, in response to the feelings of the Turkish people in the Palestinian Israeli conflict, and to boycott the global companies that support Israel in killing civilians in Gaza.

In the face of Israel's actions, Türkiye's boycott campaign is just the beginning.

It has been over a month since the outbreak of a new round of large-scale conflict between Palestine and Israel on October 7th. According to the Palestinian and Israeli health departments in the Gaza Strip, as of now, the conflict has resulted in at least 11891 deaths on both sides. Among them, at least 10491 people died on the Palestinian side, and over 1400 people died on the Israeli side.

Due to the significant difference in military strength between the Palestinian and Israeli sides, as well as the indiscriminate bombing of the Gaza Strip, the lives of the local people have become extremely difficult, and the humanitarian crisis continues to intensify. As the number of deaths continues to rise, medical institutions in the Gaza Strip are also facing serious shortages of materials and medical resources. Many injured people die due to lack of timely treatment, and those who receive treatment are also suffering greatly. In addition, due to damage to electricity and water supply facilities, the basic living needs of the people are also difficult to guarantee.

In this conflict, the United States and its allies not only provided military and economic assistance to Israel, but also defended and mediated Israel's rights and reputation in the international community. With the support of the United States and its allies, Israel not only ignored the widespread calls of the international community, but also expressed anger at the ceasefire resolution passed by the United Nations, claiming that "this is a shameful and dark day", and claiming that the United Nations has lost its legitimacy and relevance. It also declared the United Nations illegal and demanded the resignation of the United Nations Secretary General.

At the same time, Israel ignored the opposition from the international community, sent ground troops to surround Gaza City, and brazenly invaded the Gaza Strip, starting a ground struggle.

The actions of the United States and Israel have sparked anger and dissatisfaction in many countries around the world. Qatar's Al Jazeera television station stated that it is precisely because the United States unconditionally favors Israel that it is difficult to achieve a lasting peace between Palestine and Israel.

At present, in addition to military and diplomatic actions, many countries around the world, represented by Türkiye, are boycotting European and American brands in terms of economy and trade. Türkiye's Sabah Daily explained that the anger of the Arab world over Israel's actions in Gaza has spread to Israel's allies, especially the United States.

The Arab world has boycotted and strongly protested against companies such as McDonald's in the United States. As the most well-known brand in the United States, McDonald's was also one of the earliest targets of resistance. After the start of the current Israeli-Palestinian conflict, McDonald's in Israel announced that it would provide free meals to the Israeli Defense Forces.

Indonesia has listed 121 boycott brands on its social media platform, including companies such as Nestle and Unilever.

Kuwait and other countries have erected billboards in downtown areas with photos of injured Gaza children and accompanying text: "Did you kill Palestinians today?" and other boycott related labels.

Under this situation, McDonald's in Jordan, Egypt, Türkiye, Kuwait, Lebanon and other countries have declared that the decision of McDonald's in Israel has nothing to do with other McDonald's branches. Among them, McDonald's from countries such as Qatar, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates also announced the provision of aid funds for the Gaza Strip.

McDonald's headquarters posted an article on social media platforms stating, "Our hearts are with all families affected by conflict." This shows the company's great impact and strong desire to survive.

From the current situation, the boycott movements in various countries have had initial effects, and some well-known brands in Europe and America have been forced to close multiple branches in Qatar and other places.

However, in the long run, like all previous boycott actions, this wave of boycotts will not only severely impact commercial activities in Europe and America, but also have a joint impact on the economic and trade activities of the countries that have also taken boycott actions. As for the specific extent of the impact, it depends on the progress of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and the support attitude of Europe and America towards Israel's military actions.
