The chief of staff of the Israeli army: Prepare for resuming combat against Iran

The Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces, Zamil, said that the Israeli military is closely monitoring Iran's missile launch activities, maintaining "high alert", and has prepared for a potential resumption of combat against Iran.

Xinhua News Agency reported that Zamil said at a military meeting on Sunday (July 19th) that the Israeli army is closely monitoring the developments in the Iranian situation. On that day, the Israeli army detected that Iran launched missiles towards the Yaqoubah area in Jordan, and the Israeli air defense system was in "alert mode". Zamil also said that the Israeli army "is ready to resume combat immediately".

The Israeli military issued a statement on the 19th afternoon, saying that after detecting the missiles fired by Iran towards Jordan, in order to prevent missile debris from falling into Israel, the Israeli military launched multiple anti-aircraft interception missiles. Some of the debris landed on an open area near the southern Israeli city of Eilat, which is adjacent to Jordan.

Reuters reported on the same day that an Israeli military official said that Israel is preparing to receive more US refueling aircraft. Over the past week, the mutual attacks between the US and Iran have been escalating.

According to The New York Times, several unnamed US officials disclosed that the US is sending additional military aircraft to the Middle East. This move was planned even before the recent US military casualties occurred.
