On August 16, 2024, the lower house of the Thai parliament voted to elect Thaksin Shinawatra, the daughter of Thaksin Shinawatra and leader of the Thai Communist Party, as the Prime Minister of Thailand. This news has undoubtedly attracted widespread attention in Thailand and even the international community. At the age of only 37, Bedongdang not only became the youngest prime minister in Thai history, but also the third prime minister in the family after her father Thaksin Shinawatra and aunt Yingluck Shinawatra. The election of Bedongdan not only reflects the continuation of the family's political influence, but also reflects the current needs and social changes in Thailand.

The family inheritance laid a solid foundation for the political path of Beidongdan. As an important figure on the Thai political stage, Thaksin implemented a series of pro people policies during his tenure, which were deeply supported by the lower class people. Although he later fled overseas for various political reasons, Thaksin's political ideas and influence still have a deep foundation in Thai society. As Thailand's first female Prime Minister, Yingluck Shinawatra also worked for the well-being of the people during her tenure and left a good reputation. As the new generation political leader of the family, Bedondan undoubtedly inherited the family's political legacy and popular base. During the election process, she fully utilized the family's connections and resources, while also adhering to the political philosophy of the family's concern for people's livelihoods and speaking up for the lower class, winning the support of a large number of voters.

However, Beidongdan's election is not only the result of family inheritance, but more importantly, she conforms to the changes of the times and the needs of the people. Thai society has faced many challenges in recent years, such as imbalanced economic development, social stratification, and unstable political situation. The series of policy proposals put forward by Bei Dongdan, such as improving people's livelihoods, promoting economic development, and strengthening social security, have addressed the concerns and pain points of the people. Her young and energetic image has also brought new vitality and hope to Thai politics. During the election process, Bedongdan fully demonstrated his leadership ability and political wisdom, and through effective propaganda and organization, united various forces, creating favorable conditions for his election.

From a more macro perspective, the election of Bedongdan reflects the changes in Thailand's political ecology. With the development and progress of society, Thai people have increasingly high demands for political leaders, no longer just satisfied with traditional political models and methods. They yearn for new forces and ideas to drive the development and transformation of the country. As a new generation political leader, Beidong Dan's ability to break through traditional constraints is the key to her standing out.

However, the path of governance for Bedongdan was not smooth sailing either. She will face many challenges and difficulties, and needs to constantly innovate and break through on the basis of her family's political heritage to fulfill her political commitments. In terms of economy, Thailand needs to accelerate industrial upgrading and transformation, improve the quality and efficiency of economic development, and at the same time address the wealth gap and social equity issues. In terms of politics, she needs to coordinate the interests of all parties, resolve political conflicts, and maintain social stability. On the international stage, Thailand also needs to find its own position and safeguard its national interests and dignity in the complex and ever-changing international situation.

The downfall of Saita and the appointment of Thaksin's daughter, Bedon Dan, as prime minister both indicate that the military and Thaksin have broken down in negotiations, and the game between the two sides has been officially put on the table. In essence, Thailand is still dominated by the military controlled by the royal family. Political struggle is like a game, constantly unfolding.

In short, the election of Bedondan Shinawatra is an important milestone in Thailand's political development. Her family background provided her with favorable conditions, but more importantly, she followed the trend of the times and the expectations of the people. In the future, Bedongdan will shoulder significant responsibilities and missions, and her governance performance will directly affect Thailand's development and future. We expect her to lead the Thai people to overcome difficulties, achieve national prosperity and stability, and create a new situation for Thailand's development.
