Putin: Russia has the ability to end the war in Ukraine

Russian President Putin said that Russia has sufficient strength and resources to end the war in Ukraine and expressed the hope that the Russian army does not have to use nuclear weapons.

Russia's Channel One TV station aired a documentary about Putin's 25 years in power, titled "Russia, Kremlin, Putin: 25 Years", on Sunday (May 4th). When asked about the risk of nuclear escalation in the Russia-Ukraine war in the film, Putin said, "They want to anger us and make us make mistakes." So far, there is no need to use these weapons... I hope there is no need to use them.

He also said, "We have sufficient strength and means to put an end to what began in 2022 and achieve the results demanded by Russia."

In February 2022, Putin ordered Russian troops to enter Ukraine, triggering the largest ground conflict in Europe since World War II and also the largest-scale confrontation between Moscow and Western countries since the end of the Cold War. At the end of 2022, Burns, then director of the Central Intelligence Agency of the United States, warned that Russia might use nuclear weapons against Ukraine, but Moscow refuted this claim.

US President Trump has repeatedly expressed his hope to end this bloody war and is frustrated that the peace process between Russia and Ukraine has failed to make progress for a long time.

Putin said in the documentary that reconciliation with Ukraine was only a matter of time. "In my opinion, this is inevitable, although we are experiencing so many tragedies now...... It's a matter of time.

Putin, now 72 years old, became the president of Russia on the last day of 1999, embarking on a 25-year governance journey. Regarding his long political career, he said, "I don't feel like a politician." I still breathe the same air as millions of Russian citizens. This is very important.

He also disclosed that he has been considering the issue of a successor, but emphasized that who will lead Russia will be decided by the people. Ultimately, the choice lies with the people, the people of Russia. I think there should be one person or several people so that the people have a choice.
