Israeli air strikes on Syrian military positions

Syrian media reported that the Israeli military carried out airstrikes in the central Syrian provinces of Homs and Hama in the early hours of Thursday, targeting a car assembly plant in the industrial zone of Homs province and a military position in Hama.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the attack was on an Iranian car factory.

According to Syrian media, vehicles carrying medical and relief supplies were also targeted.

At present, the Israeli army is fighting Hezbollah in Lebanon, pushing back militias in Syria and Yemen, and confronting Iran directly.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Israeli army said it had struck and killed Adham Jahout, a member of Hezbollah's Syrian cell, the Golan Terror Network.

Jahout is understood to have been an intermediary responsible for passing intelligence gleaned from Syria to Hezbollah. Hezbollah had previously relied mainly on Syria to transport weapons and other equipment from Iran.

Both the Syrian and Iranian governments deny that Iran has troops in Syria. As the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah continues to escalate, Israeli strikes on targets in Syria have become more frequent.

Israeli Army chief of Staff Halevi has vowed to continue the fight against Hezbollah, never let Hezbollah have a chance to recover.
