Kim and Jung: Improving relations between North and South Korea is merely a "delusional fantasy" of the South Korean side.

The younger sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and the deputy secretary of the Workers' Party, Kim Yong Chon, said that improving relations between North and South Korea is merely the "delusion" of the South Korean side. She demanded that the South Korean side apologize for the incident of the unmanned aircraft crossing the border and take practical measures to prevent such incidents from happening again.

The Yonhap News Agency quoted the KCNA report from Tuesday (January 13th) stating that Kim Yo Jong severely criticized the statement made by the South Korean Ministry of Unification, calling it "pathetically wrong".

The Ministry of Unification of South Korea said earlier that the North Korean side had not made any further statements regarding the drone incident, indicating that it was observing South Korea's response measures and pointing out that there is still room for easing tensions and engaging in dialogue and communication between the two sides.

In response to this, Kim Yo Jong said that South Korea's "efforts to improve relations between the two Koreas" is an unrealistic fantasy. No matter if the South Korean leaders go on overseas visits, hire someone to handle the negotiations on their behalf, or put on a show of goodwill, the relationship between the two Koreas will never change.

She reiterated, "The South Korean unmanned aircraft intruding into the airspace of the DPRK is a serious act of provocation that violates the sovereignty of the DPRK. This is an act that only non-hostile countries could commit. The South Korean side should admit it, apologize, and take measures to prevent such incidents from happening again."

She also warned that if such provocative actions occur again, the South Korean side would have to bear "unbearable consequences". She emphasized that this was not merely a threat or a verbal confrontation, but a clear statement that North Korea would take concrete actions when its sovereignty is violated.

The General Staff Department of the Korean People's Army issued a statement last Saturday (the 10th) saying that in September last year and on January 4 this year, South Korean unmanned aircraft had twice intruded into North Korean airspace. However, the South Korean military firmly denied using unmanned aircraft and claimed that these aircraft were more like being assembled from civilian parts, "showing significant differences from the unmanned aircraft of the South Korean military."
