The office of the President of South Korea has fully initiated the relocation work, moving the office equipment of all departments from the current Yongsan Presidential Office to the former Presidential office, the Blue House. The South Korean government is striving to complete this relocation before the end of the month.
Yonhap News Agency reported that starting from Tuesday afternoon (December 9th), office supplies, files and computers from the presidential secretaries' offices will be transported to the Blue House one after another. The moving work of equipment and supplies in public areas such as restaurants and meeting rooms was initiated the day before.
The press office area and the press conference hall will also be gradually relocated to the Spring and Autumn Hall of the Blue House. To minimize the impact on daily work, the relocation work is mainly carried out at 6 p.m. after working hours and on weekends.
Kang Hoon-sik, the chief of staff of the Presidential Office, said at a report meeting on the half-year achievements of the government last week that the presidential Office will end the "Yongsan era" and move back to the original Blue House. It is expected that the relocation of working facilities will be completed around Christmas.
