Furthermore, in 2025, a total of over 50,000 incidents of bears appearing in public were reported across Japan, which was the highest figure in the past five years.

According to previous reports by Japanese media, since last summer, the activity range of bears has significantly moved closer to human living areas compared to previous years. More than 70% of bear attacks on humans have occurred in urban areas or residential districts, raising concerns among the public about travel safety.
